Alright guys.  Standings are updated now, so we can at least see where each team stands before heading into the last week of the regular season.  Still waiting to update stats, since I'm waiting on a score sheet from Dave.

seems after the two sweeps last night, Starleafs will be within 2 points of BLSH which means we need to makeup the two games from week one in our fight for the first round bye! given the holiday weekend, I suggest we play the two makeup games the first weekend in December 12/4. First round would be second weekend 12/11, and Championship 12/18. others' thoughts?

After talking about it last night with Brandon and Dave, we think it would be best to play our 2 games Dec 4th around 4:30 or 5, BEFORE the 7:00 playoff games that same day. Then have the finals on Dec 11th as scheduled. This way we're not pushing further into December, where if weather is a factor, we have to push the finals into January like last year.

I know this isn't ideal, but we agreed this is for the best.

Since BLSH would only need 1 win to clinch the bye, if we won, Starleafs would get a break before playoff games at 7:00. And if we lost both, we would get a little break before playing at 7:00 as well.

Basically, all we need to do is nail down what time we want to play our 2 games on Dec 4th

Pushing the finals into January sounds better than us winning the first makeup game...then losing the 2nd game..and end up possibly playing 3 more games against a fresh team who is a lower seed. I'd rather concede 2nd place as opposed to doing that (and that's not fair either).

I'm not playing into January so we have to figure out something that will make it work. We either play them Sunday night or on the 3rd or the 4th. It's too close to the holidays to keep pushing it back. Everytime we suggest a make up time you guys can't do it. So we need to look at an afternoon or a Saturday or something. Maybe an evening during the week? The season needs to end on Dec. 11th.

What exactly would be wrong with playing the first three weeks of Dec? I think 5 games in one night might be a little tiring for both teams. If you don't want to play in January Brandon then don't. But something more reasonable has to be decided then putting out an ultimatum. If the team can reasonably field teams. Then maybe a Saturday morning. Also, Dave and I spoke about only having two seasons or so. Both of us like playing, really no matter what is going on. If you can play of field a team, then we'll keep trying to find those who want to play.

I can play this Sunday night if we can get teams together. I'd really rather not have either team have the potential of having to play five games in one night much less the fourth that would automatically be required for star leafs. I see the point that weather could possibly push the championship to January but I also don't see how that's really a big deal. Just my thoughts.

Side note, I think two or three seasons would be awesome. Just need to mail down

Oops... *just need to nail down dates for each season and then planning would be much easier.

I want to play. I'm saying I can't play into January. What I want has nothing to do with it. I'm saying we need to think outside the box for these make up games. There are six other days of the week we could play and 24 hours in each of those days. I'm a very busy person and I can make it happen so I know most people can too. You just have to want to. So that's why I suggest the Saturday, Dec. 3rd for the 2 games. I'm not trying to drop an ultimatum. I know my team doesn't want to wait five more weeks for this season to wrap up.

Dennis, I'm not playing in January. I've already told Dave if the next season starts that soon, I'm out. So do me a favor and just ask your team if they can do it on different day of the week.

I am with Brandon on this. We need to make up those games another day and not push the finals any later. Dave, Brandon and I talked about this Sunday night. We agreed playing further into December runs a higher risk of weather cancelation, and as it's closer to the holidays, being sensitive to guys spending time with families.

I'm not playing in January either so I can take a break for my wife and daughter.

So, I'm good for that Saturday

I'm only a bit player in this (because i am a bit player) but i would rather either play this Sunday, or push things back a week. Having said that, i'm okay with playing the makeup games Dec 3rd. That's me...if not enough on my team is okay with that, or can play that day, i dont know where to go from there. I really dont see the big deal either with pushing things back a week and having the finals played Dec 18th. Normally, weather in central Indiana is not outrageous in December.

The big deal is I probably can't make it the 18th because it's my daughters 1st birthday party that weekend three hours away. I won't make it back to play. The next week is Christmas.

I'm ok with playing early the 3rd. By early I mean before Noon.
Let me check with the team to see who is available.

What's the status on the rest of the Starleafs for playing this Saturday? We should be able to at least field a team.
Also, what time are we going to plan on starting?

Guys, I think there is a reasonable alternative to playing on saturday. Would StartLeafs and BLSH be alligned on playing just 1 game on Dec 4 at 6 pm to decide the seedings? The winner gets the bye and the loser plays HSH at 7 or 7:30 pm on the same night to begin the first round of the playoffs. The loser would then only be playing 1 extra game that night. In this case, the BLSH would have the most to lose since in the other format they could lose the first game and still have the opportunity to play 1 more game to secure the bye. That sounds like a good deal for the StarLeafs if you ask me, but the BLSH would have to agree to this. I think our team would allign. This allows the league to finish the season on Dec 11, which I and others seem to prefer. Thoughts?

Although that cuts my chances for another shutout and another win to further the goalie wins in a season record, I'm on board for this plan. Let's do it and end this funny business

I'm fine with it... But just out of curiosity if you are only going to have a makeshift team on Sunday then what was the big deal with playing a different day. It probably would have helped you. Anyway, see you Sunday.

I'm confused. #45 left a blog on monday (12/5) that read "great games last night. congrats to the star leafs". On 12/4 I thought the 1 make-up game we were planning between BLSH and Star Leafs, and then the subsequent playoff games between Star Leafs and HSH, was forfeited by the Start Leafs because they couldn't field a team that day?? Chris texted me a message that I shouldn't show up. What's going on? Are the BLSH playing next week on Dec 11?

Starleafs had to forfeit the 6 o'clock game because half the team was unable to make it at the 6 o'clock time frame. So that gave BLSH a free ticket to the championship. Since the start of the "playoffs" weren't scheduled until 7:30ish, we were able to field a team for those games to still fight for a shot.

Dennis, thanks for the clarification. With the site not being updated with scores/standings it was hard to follow what occurred.

Star Leafs versus BLSH for the championship at 7 pm Sunday night.

Chris, I've been wanting to do that a while, but I'm still waiting to get stats from Dave. It's hard to update when info isn't passed on, timely. I don't mind doing it, but I may have to pass this task on next season, since it's gets to difficult to try to update stuff 3 weeks later, when I finally get stats.

Once, I get stats from the final week of the regular season, I will make an attempt to update player stats.

Ha. Yeah, I figured as much. My comment was more directed to Dave than to you. Especially for all the crap I got for losing (then finding) the stat sheet from week 3 or whenever.
I wouldn't mind sharing this responsibility to help lighten the load in the future.
